Just steps away from the hotel is the Waikiki. Exhibits focus on the aquatic life of the Hawaiian Islands and the tropical Pacific. Located on the Waikiki shoreline next to a living reef it is an educational and rewarding way to spend a day in Hawaii

It is currently home to over 420 species of aquatic animals and plants, including species native only to the Hawaiian Islands. It is located next to the Waikiki War Memorial Natatorium and The New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel.

New Year's Day Hours are 11:00 am to 5:00 pm

Only a few minutes walk from the hotel, the Honolulu Zoo is located on a 42 acre site on the North End of Kapiolani Park. The Honolulu Zoo has the distinction of being "the only zoo in the United States originating from a King's grant of royal lands to the people".

You can visit the Karibuni Reserver "African Safari Exhibit", Manyara African Bird Sanctuary, the tropical forests and Children's Zoo.
