KAIMANA
ABOUT US
Built in 1963 on Oahu's iconic Gold Coast, Kaimana Beach Hotel is Waikiki's only boutique property located directly on the sand. With a soul that harkens back to the heyday of Waikiki, and a rejuvenated identity that embraces today's thriving creative community, Kaimana Beach Hotel welcomes global wanderers to connect with Hawaii's world-class sense of place.

DO IT ALL
Located in the shade of Diamond Head, the hotel and beach are aptly named -- Kaimana means diamond in Hawaiian. Affectionately referred to as Sans Souci (without cares) by those in the know, Kaimana Beach is a place of solace.

HISTORY
The property, upon which the hotel now sits, was the former residence of the McInerny family, founders of a once-prominent retail chain. The family’s Victorian beachfront home featured an oceanfront lanai (balcony) covered by a distinctive hau tree, a haven frequented by famed author Robert Louis Stevenson.

Kaimana Beach Hotel was eventually constructed in 1963, hau tree intact. The hotel continues to host travelers, and the iconic hau tree vistas continue to be enjoyed by patrons of the renowned Hau Tree restaurant.
"We are all travelers in the wilderness of this world"
