where culture & celebration
gather for the holiday season
As the sun sets behind the majestic Koʻolau Mountains, eyes lift to the night sky in search of Makaliʻi — the Pleiades Constellation. Its annual appearance marks the beginning of Makahiki, a sacred season in the Hawaiian calendar that symbolizes renewal, peace, and a promising new year.
From November through early February, Makahiki is a time to rest, reflect, and rejoice — gathering in celebration of the harvest with mele (music), storytelling, traditional arts, and playful engagement. At Kaimana Beach Hotel, we honor this season through authentic partnerships with local artisans, inviting you to experience Makahiki in a way that is rooted in tradition and rich in aloha. Come share in the beauty and meaning of this time-honored celebration.
The ultimate Gold Coast Tea party, evoking Waikīkī’s iconic golden era of style, society, sips, mele and culture, the award-winning Kaimana Beach Hotel is pleased to launch a new experience with a golden legacy, Mu‘u & Mimosas, A Kaimana Tea Party. Overlooking Kapua Bay, the Kaimana Tea Party, will feature locally sourced Hobbs Tea from Kauai‘i, island mimosas, Hau Tree craft cocktails, specialty iced tea’s featuring Pono Potions and house-made delicacies, a curated soundtrack, local florals and more. So style your favorite Mu‘u or Lole and try not to ‘spill the tea’…unless you must…(wink, wink!)
